About Perihan
Perihan Gündağ, PhD, the Head of Research and Development at Qemtex (R&D), has several degrees in chemical engineering and brings many years of industry experience to the company. She spent 6 years working in sol-gel coating and 11 years in the powder coating industry. In her role leading the R&D activities at Qemtex, she works diligently to ensure high-quality product designs.
She started her career as a university research assistant and was later promoted to a senior chemist position in powder coating R&D. In 2013, Perihan continued her career at a powder coating manufacturing company in Türkiye, where she served in various R&D positions for 11 years.
As a senior chemist, her responsibilities included designing and producing new products according to customer specifications and adapting them to customers’ facilities. She used her expertise to provide training for her team and conduct innovative research. Some of her research projects included finding new methods and specifications to improve both process efficiency and quality control. Perihan also managed all government-funded projects within the R&D department.
A native of Türkiye, Perihan Gündağ received her undergraduate education in chemical engineering at Izmir Institute of Technology. She completed her master's in the Environmental Engineering Department at Namik Kemal University while working as a research assistant at the Scientific and Technical Research Council of Turkey.
She continued her doctoral studies in the Department of Process and Reactor Design at Istanbul University Cerrahpasa, where she focused on rheology studies. In her PhD thesis, she specialized in melt and powder rheology studies and developed numerous global and regional projects in various fields.
